2 arrested in connection with Greenwood fatal shooting

GREENWOOD, Miss. (AP) – Police say two suspects have been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting of a Greenwood man.

Greenwood Police Chief Ray Moore tells the Greenwood Commonwealth 31-year-old Jemorris K. Love was arrested early Monday, and 37-year-old Jerry Turner went to authorities with his attorney and turned himself in.

Police issued murder warrants on Love and Turner, but formal charges haven’t been made.

Moore says 21-year-old Ladarren Hoskins identified his attackers before he died at the scene Friday evening. He had been shot in the chest and was found in the street in East Greenwood.

Earlier last week, Love had been charged with possession of a firearm, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and resisting arrest. He was released on bond Wednesday.

It’s unclear if Love has an attorney.
