Generals send seven to all-star game
JACKSON, Tenn — The Jackson Generals found out Tuesday morning they had seven players selected for this years Mid-Season All Star game.
This is the most players the club has sent to the game since 2012. Outfielders Tyler O’Neill and Guillermo Heredia will join pitchers, Brett Ash, Emilio Pagan, Dylan Unsworth, Ryan Yarbrough and Edwin Diaz.
Diaz will not attend the game due to his recent call up to the Major Leagues.
The Generals have the most players of any team in their division make the cut. Manager, Daren Brown said, “anytime you’ve had a solid first half, we’ve played well, our pitchers have pitched well, we’ve got a lot of guys that have swung the bat well for us.”
“So you know it’s one of those, that there’s some guys aren’t on there that probably should be, but it’s a good day for the guys who are,” said Brown.
The All Star game will be played in Pearl Mississippi at Trustmark Park, home of the Mississippi Braves.
