Woman arrested on child neglect charges a second time

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – Authorities have arrested a Nashville woman on child neglect charges for a second time.

Local news outlets report that officials arrested 24-year-old Kelsey McMurtry Tuesday, about two months after her first arrest.

According to an affidavit, McMurtry met up with a childcare provider on May 30. The affidavit states that the provider thought the meeting was to introduce one another and complete paperwork. The care provider says that McMurtry unloaded her 1-year-old from her car and then left.

The Metropolitan Nashville Police Department says that the child was soaked in urine.

McMurtry was eventually booked on charges including child neglect. It’s unclear if she has an attorney.

McMurtry was previously arrested after police said her daughter was left in a hot car. It’s unclear if those charges were dropped.
