Vehicular homicide suspects appear; bond & court dates set

JACKSON, Tenn. — Jordan Bailey and Markarious Searcy are each accused in the deaths of Jay and Julie Hogan one year ago on Vann Drive.

bailey and searcy courtBailey had a $2,000 bond set Friday morning after her case was transferred from Juvenile to Circuit Court.

Each of the women’s attorneys discussed new dates for motions to be filed and heard.

Bailey will attend school this fall and court order requires her to stay in the state of Tennessee.

Each faces allegations of vehicular homicide, four counts of drag racing, reckless endangerment and reckless driving, according to court papers.

Investigators say the two women were drag racing the night of the couple’s death.

Madison County Circuit Court Judge Roy Morgan will hear any motions in the case Sept. 6, and a plea cutoff is Sept. 12. In court, Judge Morgan said a trial will be held Sept. 29 and 30.
