Dyersburg using 2015 momentum in 2016
LEXINGTON, Tenn — A 3-game winning streak put the Dyersburg Trojans in the 3A playoffs last season, and the teams wants to use that momentum coming into their 2016 campaign.
With 13 returning starters that include their quarterback, running backs and multiple offensive linemen, the Trojans feel they’ve got a recipe to continue their streak of making the post-season.
“We just keep learning the process and all that,” Dyersburg senior running back, Deshaun Fields said. “I think we’ll go pretty deep.”
The Trojans held their first scrimmage with Lexington Friday, an afternoon that saw the continued success of their running game featuring Fields.
Coaches think their group has what it takes to make a run in class 3A.
“Keep our kids focused and grounded. We just keep them working,” Dyersburg head football coach, Bart Stowe explained. “Have a great attitude and great work ethic, you know, really takes care of itself.”
Dyersburg kicks off their regular season with Martin Luther King, Jr. Preparatory High School.
