Madison girls soccer building on 2015 success
JACKSON, Tenn — After falling just a game short of making the state tournament last season, the Madison girls soccer team is hoping to extend their success in 2016.
With most of their talent returning and 8 seniors to lead the way, the team is focused on reclaiming their spot as one of the area’s best girls soccer programs
“Challenging your team. Letting them know that you’re going to play against the toughest teams because you are one of the toughest teams,” Madison girls soccer head coach, Willy Cruz said after their training session Friday night. “Making that extra step this year, that’s definitely our goal.”
And at the top of their to-do list? Getting to the state tournament.
“That’s really important to us,” Madison senior, Brittany Bray said. “That’s why we show up. We work together and we work hard and we work for each other to make it easier for the player next to you.”
Madison opens their season against Harding Academy on August 15.
