Byers wins re-election as Madison Co. Register of Deeds
MADISON COUNTY, Tenn. — Angie Byers, who was appointed to the office of Madison County Register of Deeds earlier this year was officially elected to the office, according to final but unofficial results after Thursday’s election.
Byers received 58.8 percent of the vote.
Her challenger, Mitzi Price Merriweather, received 33.2 percent.
A third candidate, Shelia Godwin, was on the ballot but had publicly said she was no longer campaigning for the office. She wound up with 7.9 percent of the vote.
