Deputies respond to reported gunfire just east of Jackson

MADISON COUNTY, Tenn. — Deputies responded Thursday afternoon to reported gunshots near the intersection of Browns Church Road and McLeary Road just east of Jackson.

Officers got the call just after 2:30 p.m. Nothing appeared to have been struck by gunfire and no injures have been reported, according to the sheriff’s office.

A witness, who declined to comment on camera, said she heard six gunshots.

The scene is near a polling location, but deputies said it was unrelated and has not been affected.

There is no information about a suspect available at this time.
