Cantrell leads Chargers
MARTIN, Tenn — Concluding Westview’s season, legendary head coach Don Coady announced to the team he was moving on to seek other opportunities. With his departure made way for Trey Cantrell to take over the program. Coady left the program one win shy of 200. Cantrell, he’ll look to get his first ever win as a head coach this season.
He’s been apart of the Chargers program for years, but says his role is much bigger than being a head football coach.
“Coaching is what I love to do,” said Cantrell. “You know I love teaching kids the game of football, trying to build character in young men and that’s what it’s all about. Being a head coach is nice but as a head coach still, your main focus is trying to prepare these kids for life.”
Well for now Cantrell is trying to get his team ready to take on Dresden week one.
