Police: 3 people fall from Ferris wheel in Tennessee
GREENEVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – Authorities say three people have fallen from a Ferris wheel at a county fairground in eastern Tennessee.
The Greeneville Sun (http://bit.ly/2b4q77I) reports that Greeneville Police Detective Capt. Tim Davis said all three fell 30 to 45 feet from the ride Monday evening. Davis says the oldest of the three is a 16-year-old girl.
The detective says officers were interviewing witnesses and all carnival rides would be shut down for the night.
“We treat it like a crime scene until we determine there’s no foul play,” Davis says. “We don’t know at this time what caused the accident.”
County-Greeneville EMS Operations Director T.J. Manis says those who fell were taken a hospital in Johnson City – two by helicopter and one by ambulance. Their conditions were not available.
