Louisiana’s fall shrimp seasons open Aug. 15, Aug. 22

BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) – The opening dates for the 2016 Louisiana fall shrimp season are scheduled later this month.

The portion of state inside waters from the Mississippi/Louisiana state line westward to the Atchafalaya River Ship Channel Buoy Line open at 6 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 15.

The portion of state inside waters from the Atchafalaya River Ship Channel Buoy Line westward to the Louisiana/Texas state line are scheduled to open at 6 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 22.

The Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries Commission announced the dates earlier this month based on information provided by biologists and public comments.
