Sheriff holds monthly community meeting for Spring Creek residents

MADISON COUNTY, Tenn.-Community members met with Madison County’s sheriff for another monthly community meeting, Thursday night.

Sheriff John Mehr held his 20th monthly community meeting at the Spring Creek Community Center on Highway 70 East.
Around 200 people from the area attended as the sheriff took feedback from attendees and addressed issues in the Spring Creek community.
Organizers said these meetings are a win/win for both the sheriff and the community.

“He needs out support, he needs to know where we are, needs to be able to call on us when needed and we need to work together to make his job easier,” said Mary Bowen, the event’s host.

The meeting began with a flag-folding ceremony and a “Missing chair” ceremony, to remember those who never returned from war.
The next community meeting will be September 20 at Three Way.
