Additional charges filed against double homicide suspect

BAY ST. LOUIS, Miss. (AP) – The 27-year-old man accused of fatally shooting two people last month in Bay St. Louis now faces additional charges of attempted murder and aggravated assault in the wounding of the couple’s baby.

The Sun Herald reports the two new charges against Myrick Laneaux are related to his alleged shooting of the infant. Police Chief Mike De Nardo said Thursday Laneaux had previously been charged with two counts of murder.

De Nardo says the 6-month-old infant was shot in the shoulder as her mother, 28-year-old Kristina Quintini and father, 29-year-old Norris Demetrius Mueller, were fatally struck. The child is expected to recover.

Laneaux is being held at the Hancock County jail in lieu of a $2.85 bond.

Online jail records do not list an attorney for him.
