Local janitor accused of stealing from school resource officer

JACKSON, Tenn. — A local janitor accused of stealing from a school resource officer now faces criminal charges.

Deon DeBerry appeared in Jackson City Court Thursday on two counts of theft. He is accused of stealing $200 from a resource officer at Parkview Learning Center.

Police said the alleged thefts took place on Aug. 10 and Aug. 11.

The judge set DeBerry’s bond at $5,000.
