Man pleads guilty in shooting of former Metro councilman
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – A man accused of shooting former Nashville Metro councilman Loniel Greene has pleaded guilty to an aggravated assault charge.
The Tennessean (http://tnne.ws/2bBEQ9G ) reports that 20-year-old Brandon Hunt-Clark was placed on supervised probation for three years on Wednesday. As part of a plea deal, he must also participate in a “violence interruption” class.
Prosecutors say Hunt-Clark shot Greene outside a West Nashville gas station last November after Greene admittedly followed him away from the business. Greene has previously told detectives he followed Hunt-Clark and another man because he thought he recognized one of them as a relative.
Greene, who was not armed with a weapon, told police he followed a man he recognized down a nearby street, where there was a spray of gunfire and he was shot three times.
