Haywood Co. budget committee looks for way to balance budget
BROWNSVILLE, Tenn.- Haywood County leaders met again, after a proposed tax hike failed to pass Monday night.
The county commission’s budget committee met for more than three hours, Tuesday night with department heads to find ways to balance the budget.
The chairman said if significant cuts cannot be made they will be forced to make even tougher decisions.
“(Wednesday), we will meet again and we will tell them what they will have to cut and those things are going to deal with salaries positions,”
said Jerry Smith, chairman of the Haywood County Commission’s budget committee.
The budget committee is scheduled to meet Wednesday at 4 p.m.
