Nashville police officer decommissioned after DUI arrest

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – Officials say a Metro Nashville police officer has been decommissioned following his DUI arrest.

News outlets report police say 40-year-old Mark Hatt was assigned to desk duty after being arrested Monday in Hendersonville.

Police say a Sumner County sheriff’s deputy stopped Hatt for speeding early Monday and saw that he showed signs of impairment.

He took a blood alcohol test, the results of which are pending.

Hatt, who is a seven-year veteran of the department, is scheduled to appear in court in December.

It’s unclear if Hatt has an attorney.
