Weather Update – 10:30 p.m. Friday
Showers are diminishing from south to north tonight with drier conditions returning to the area. Temperatures will drop to the lower and middle 70s by sunrise Saturday morning. Dense fog will limit visibility in West Tennessee around daybreak but we should have mainly dry conditions at the start of the day.
THIS WEEKEND
More hit-or-miss showers and thunderstorms will be possible between the later morning and early evening hours on Saturday. For those that don’t get rain, temperatures will likely reach the lower and middle 90s with the humidity continuing to make it feel like 100°F! It’s too early to say what areas of West Tennessee will have the best chance for rain, so be prepared for pockets of heavy rain and lightning in your area this weekend. Sunday, rain won’t be as likely – most of West Tennessee will just be dry, hot, and humid!
NEXT WEEK
More pop-up showers and thunderstorms are forecast for the remainder of the month each late morning to early evening. High temperatures are forecast to reach near 90°F each day too with the heat index near 100°F. Preliminary data is leading toward Summer 2016 in Jackson ending up on the top 10 list of the hottest summers on record (since 1948). Fall officially begins on September 22nd!
