Man charged with sending intimate photos of ex-girlfriend to her co-workers

JACKSON, Tenn. — A man is facing harassment and unlawful exposure charges on accusations of sending intimate photos of his ex-girlfriend to her co-workers when she tried to cut off contact with him.

John Gortney is accused of emailing six photos of his ex-girlfriend to around 15 to 20 of her co-workers with the intention of causing emotional distress, according to an affidavit.

Court papers say Gortney had been in a relationship with the woman at the time she sent him the photos.

Gortney is also accused of repeatedly harassing the woman via phone calls and emails.

He also faces an extortion charge involving the photos.
