Underwood, Moreford cases heading to grand jury
JACKSON, Tenn.-Former USJ quarterback William “Easton” Underwood returned to court on his charges of aggravated burglary and felony theft, Thursday afternoon.
Instead of allowing the state to present evidence, the 19-year-old waived his right to a preliminary hearing, allowing the case to be sent to the grand jury.
Underwood is charged with taking thousands of dollars in cash, keys and video game systems back in June from a house in north Jackson.
His co-defendant, Jacob Morford, a former basketball player at TCA also waived his right to a preliminary hearing.
He faces the same counts of aggravated burglary and felony theft.
Morford and Underwood are accused of stealing more than $4,000 worth of items. Both remain free on bond.
