Madison Co. Sheriff’s Dept. officers team up with Chili’s to raise money for St. Jude
JACKSON, Tenn.-Chili’s restaurant held a fundraiser and they had a little help from the Madison County Sheriff’s Department.
1,500 Chili’s locations, including one in Jackson, took part in a fundraising event for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
The sheriff’s department helped by waiting on tables with all of their tips going to St. Jude. Organizers said in addition to raising dollars, they hope to raise awareness, too.
“Cancer awareness is something everybody should know about. It can kill and its very serious. But you know with all the research and what we’re raising this money for, it really can change lives,” said Kimberly Newson, hope captain for Chili’s.
Last year, this event raised $4.25 million nationally for St. Jude.
Chili’s will also host a pancake breakfast on September 17 to raise even more money.
