3rd heat-related death in Shelby County reported
MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) – Health officials are reporting the third heat-related death this year in Shelby County.
The county’s health department is not identifying any of the three people who have died from heat-related causes this summer in the Memphis area.
The health department is advising residents to combat high temperatures by drinking plenty of fluids, wearing lightweight clothing and not leaving people or pets in parked cars.
Officials reported six heat-related deaths in 2015.
