Miss Tennessee wins prelim talent contest for Miss America Pageant

JACKSON, Tenn. — For the first time in 30 years, a “Miss Tennessee” has won the talent preliminary contest in the Miss America Pageant.

Grace Burgess, 22, took home the Miss Tennessee title back in June, and this Sunday on ABC 7 she’ll compete for Miss America.

Tuesday night, Burgess claimed a talent preliminary win with a rendition of “Desperado” by the Eagles.

She’ll return to the stage Wednesday night for the “onstage question” followed by swimsuit and evening gown preliminaries on Thursday.
