Former THP trooper from Carroll Co. charged with soliciting statutory rape
CARROLL COUNTY, Tenn. — A former trooper with the Tennessee Highway Patrol has been charged with solicitation of statutory rape involving a teenage female.
David Rorer, 45, of McKenzie was indicted Tuesday by the Carroll County grand jury on one count of solicitation of statutory rape, according to a release from the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.
Rorer is no longer employed by the THP, according to the release.
During the course of a TBI investigation with the assistance of the Department of Children’s Services, agents developed information that Rorer made inappropriate statements to an underage female in an attempt to initiate a sexual relationship with her, according to the release.
He was booked into the Carroll County Jail on a $1,000 bond.
