Man charged with attempted first degree murder in shooting

JACKSON, Tenn.–Jackson police have charged a man with attempted first degree murder for his alleged involvement in a shooting earlier this month.

Royal ShootingPolice say Quewlyn Mays and another man began arguing at Mary Long’s cafe on Middle Avenue September 7th.

Charging documents claim Mays pulled out a .22 caliber revolver and shot the man in the hip.

The victim was later taken to the ER by a relative, according to court papers.

Records show Mays is a convicted felon.

He’s being held in lieu of a $150,000 bond.
