Police: wanted man leaves trail of new crimes

HENDERSON, Tenn.–A Henderson man on the run from police since Tuesday may be leaving a trail of new crimes, according to police with the city of Henderson.

Gary Hart MUGLeon Johnson, Assistant Police Chief in Henderson says Gary Hart hasn’t been caught, but they don’t believe he’s still in the area.

According to Johnson, Hart burglarized a home, stole a car and cash earlier this week.

Investigators discovered the car abandoned near Memphis with the radio missing, according to Johnson.

Hart initially lead police on a nearly three-hour search Tuesday afternoon. While officers looked for the suspect, Chester county schools were put on lock down.

Police say that Hart, who is a convicted felon, got into a fight with a relative Tuesday morning and fired two gunshots into the air. He then fled into the woods near the area, according to information given to the police by Hart’s mother.

U.S. Marshals are offering a reward for information leading to his capture.

If you’ve seen him, call the Henderson Police Department at 731-989-2201.
