Best-selling author talks to JSCC students
JACKSON, Tenn. — Jackson State Community College hosted New York Times best-selling author, Wes Moore, Tuesday afternoon. Moore is the author of “The Other Wes Moore” and a guest on the Oprah Network.
The event, held at the gymnasium, brought out several hundred students, faculty, staff and visitors from local high schools.
Moore addressed the crowd, placing a special emphasis on the idea that we are not the product of our environment, rather the product of our expectations. He also stressed the importance of higher education and the weight of individual choices.
