Adams County man charged in fatal New Year’s Day shooting
NATCHEZ, Miss. (AP) – An Adams County man faces a murder charge for the New Year’s Day shooting death of another man.
Sheriff Travis Patten tells The Natchez Democrat 21-year-old Jovan Singleton was arrested Wednesday for the Jan. 1 death of 24-year-old Bobby Butler.
Authorities say Butler was found shot to death in the roadway of Gardner Circle. Butler was last seen alive by family members on New Year’s Eve 2015, and relatives have said Butler was shooting dice with others when a scuffle broke out, followed by at least one gunshot.
Online jail records do not list an attorney for Singleton.
