How to help family whose Jackson home was destroyed in weekend fire

JACKSON, Tenn. — After a weekend fire destroys a home in east Jackson, donation sites are now taking clothing and other items to help the family.

Screen Shot 2016-09-24 at 4.14.29 PMThe early Saturday morning fire destroyed the home near the corner of McRee and East Lafayette streets. Fire officials suspect arson.

The residents were not home at the time and no one was injured, but they did lose two dogs as a result of smoke inhalation from the fire.

The locations where you can donate are HaliHannigans, Tail Wagger’z, and Ben Jessie and the Mechanix (mechanic shop behind Redbone’s).

Items needed and sizes include:

– Pants sizes: ladies 18, 10 and 10 maternity

– Shirts sizes: ladies large and extra large

– Shoes sizes: ladies 9 and 10

One of the residents is expecting a baby. They lost a crib, changing table, diapers and other items. Anything for a newborn is appreciated.
