Jackson man charged with false imprisonment, assault

JACKSON, Tenn. — A Jackson man is arrested on a list of charges after police say he assaulted his girlfriend and held her against her will.

According to court documents, Marty Chatman’s ex-girlfriend told police he strangled her, hit her with his fist, broke her phone and refused to let her leave her apartment, even when a neighbor tried to intervene.

Chatman faces charges of aggravated domestic assault, false imprisonment and vandalism.

He was released on a $10,000 bond.
