Crews on scene of recycling center fire in Chester County
CHESTER COUNTY, Tenn. — Crews are on scene of a fire at the West Tennessee Regional Recycling Hub just east of Henderson.
The blaze reportedly started outside the recycling center. There is not yet word on what may have started the fire.
Solid Waste Manager Danny Benard said the fire started outside of the building in the plastics and quickly spread to the building.
Traffic was backed up Wednesday afternoon as firefighters worked the scene. The smoke was visible from miles away.
Chester County Mayor Dwain Seaton said there were 18 people inside at the time but that no one was hurt.
Seaton said there are at least five fire departments working the scene.
