Annual 5k hosted to benefit American Cancer Society

JACKSON, Tenn. — This month kicked off a month wrapped in pink for breast cancer awareness for Jackson locals and beyond.

More than 250 locals came out to support breast cancer awareness tonight at the 6th annual ‘Take Your Girls Out’ 5K marathon.

The event was sponsored by the Woman’s Clinic.

The clinic raised $13,000 at last years event, and hopes to surpass that number this year.

“They want to make a difference so they’re going to have a good time tonight,” Jon Ewing, CEO of the Woman’s Clinic said.  “There’s some good competition with the run, it’s a very challenging course with some nice hills in it.”

All money raised will benefit the American Cancer Society.
