Folks dance the night away at Harvest Moon Gala

JACKSON, Tenn. — Saturday night folks grabbed their dancing shoes for the 4th Annual Harvest Moon Gala. Live music played as dance floor was filled with couples doing the tango.

Dancers from the Jackson ballroom dance club showed off their smooth moves.

All proceeds from tonight will benefit the Jackson Center for Independent Living.

“So those dollars we use those in conjunction with volunteers to do things like build ramps, and make minor bathroom modifications and things,” Jackson Center for Independent Living Executive Director Beth James said. “So that people can stay in their homes and maybe not have to move into a nursing facility.”

There was also a silent auction at Saturday’s gala.

Event organizers say the goal is the raise about $8,000.
