Weather Update – 10:30 p.m. Monday
Skies will remain mostly clear tonight but with breezy conditions as winds remain from the south at 5-10 miles per hour. It will be a very mild night for mid-October with low temperatures in just the middle to upper 60s. We’ll be waking up to another Summer-like day tomorrow. It certainly doesn’t feel like Halloween is in two weeks! A cold front will bring rain into the area on Thursday followed by a return to much cooler weather.
TUESDAY
More record heat is forecast for Tuesday with windy conditions and sunny skies. Winds could gust over 30 miles per hour in parts of northwest Tennessee Tuesday morning. Temperatures, on the other hand, could warm up to near 90°F! If we reach 90°F tomorrow, that would set a new record high for October 18th.
REST OF THE WEEK
A cold front will approach northwest Tennessee on Wednesday afternoon increasing cloud cover in the area and giving us a slight chance for stray showers and possibly a thunderstorm. The best chance for rain Wednesday is north of I-40. Temperatures will still warm up into the middle and upper 80s that afternoon as well.
The cold front will come through on Thursday bringing scattered showers and thunderstorms. The risk for severe weather appears low right now but bears watching as that aspect of the forecast depends a lot on timing. Right now, the latest data suggests that most of the rain will come through during the morning and early afternoon, thus limiting our risk for severe weather. Updates to that forecast are likely going to be needed so stay with the VIPIR 7 Storm Team for the latest forecast!
Have a great night!
