Weather Update – 10:30 p.m. Tuesday
Skies will remain mostly clear tonight with light winds from the south. It will be another mild night for mid-October with low temperatures in just the middle to upper 60s. A few locations may dip into the lower 60s but our average low temperature for this time of year is 47°F. There’s more heat ahead on Wednesday with an increase in humidity making it feel like 90°F outside at the warmest point of the day. However, this “heat wave” won’t last much longer with a cold front coming on Thursday to bring cooler weather and a chance for showers and thunderstorms.
WEDNESDAY
Another Summer-like day is forecast for Wednesday as a cold front starts to approach northwest Tennessee. Despite breezy conditions, temperatures will warm up to the middle and upper 80s again with the humidity making it feel like 90°F at times. If we do in fact reach 90°F tomorrow, that would set a new record high for October 19th.
On Wednesday afternoon, cloud cover will be increasing in the area ahead of the oncoming cold front with a chance for stray showers and possibly a thunderstorm. The best chance for rain Wednesday is north of I-40 and will continue from the afternoon into the evening and overnight.
THURSDAY
The front will finally push through the area through on Thursday bringing scattered showers and thunderstorms along with cooler weather. The risk for severe weather is low right now but one or two strong thunderstorms with gusty winds and hail will be possible – especially near the Tennessee River.
The latest data still suggests that most of the rain will come through during the morning and early afternoon but updates to that forecast are likely going to be needed so stay with the VIPIR 7 Storm Team for the very latest forecast!
Have a great night!
