“This One’s for the Girls” fundraiser brings out sold crowd
JACKSON, Tenn. — The Kirkland Cancer hosted a fun filled event for Breast Cancer Awareness, Tuesday evening.
“This One’s for the Girls” was a sold out event at the Jackson Country Club. Guests were treated to dinner, a fashion show and had the chance to win door prizes in the fundraiser for the Kirkland Cancer Center.
The fashion show featured a special clothing line called “Inspirations,” a boutique specializing in items for women who have undergone mastectomies.
Susan Barker, manager of Support Services at the Kirkland Cancer Center, said the night was as much about education as it was fundraising. “This gives ladies time to come out and learn some information and just have a sisterhood while they’re here,” she said.
Two breast cancer survivors also served as keynote speakers.
The Kirkland Cancer Center was founded in 2010.
