Men charged with attempted murder following Gibson Co. chase
GIBSON COUNTY, Tenn. — The two men responsible for the Gibson Co. shooting Wednesday morning are in custody.
Scendarius Marable, 19, and Cameron Mays, 19, are facing an attempted first degree murder charge following an argument that resulted in a shooting.
Police responded to a call around 11 a.m. Wednesday about shots being fired from a parked vehicle at a person in another vehicle on Walnut Street in Dyer, Tenn.
Police reports indicate Marable and Mays were in one vehicle stopped in the street alongside a second vehicle when an argument ensued.
The suspects sped off after the shots were fired at the second vehicle.
While deputies were heading towards the scene, they crossed the path of the suspect vehicle.
The chase started near Gibson County High School and continued into Trenton City limits.
The suspect vehicle was eventually forced into a ditch, where the men were arrested.
During a search of the vehicle, police recovered a stolen .38 caliber revolver along with crack cocaine and marijuana.
Marable and Mays are currently incarcerated at the Gibson County Correctional Complex.
A bond or initial court date has not yet been set.
