Lifeline Blood Services holds 25th annual ‘Vein Drain’ blood drive
JACKSON, Tenn. — Lifeline Blood Services in Jackson hosted its 25th annual Vein Drain Halloween Blood Drive on Thursday.
Staff dressed in costumes, decorated pumpkins and handed out candy. Donors got a t-shirt and Subway coupon.
Lifeline said it needs to stock up on blood before the holidays when they traditionally see fewer donors.
Lifeline serves 15 hospitals and clinics in 17 counties across the area. “We’ve got to make sure that we meet the needs of those patients,” Lifeline Blood Services Public Relations Coordinator Cherie Parker said. “Every week we are charged to draw 500 units of blood.”
Thursday’s festivities included a costume contest among the staff.
Lifeline is open until 6 p.m. Thursday.
