Final push to vote days before big election
JACKSON, Tenn — Candidates are in the final countdown to what some say will be the biggest election in our country’s history.
“I think it’s probably going to be record breaking, that’s what I’ve heard so far,” Voter Laurie Butler said.
Tuesday November 8th Americans will hit the polls to determine the 45th President of the United States.
“It’s apart of everyone’s history and it’s important to know who is running our government,” Thaddaeus Williams said.
Sunday many west Tennesseans are stressing how important it is for everyone to cast their ballot.
“We have a voice and it needs to be heard and we need to do whatever we can to get that voice out there,” Janette Reaves said.
“It’s always important to vote. This right has been put on us so we should take the right and do it.” Kenneth Knox said.
When asked specifically about the election and the candidates people had a lot to say.
“Well its been an interesting election so far, we’ve just never seen anything like this,” Butler said.
“It seems like a lot of mud-slinging, a lot of stuff that shouldn’t be out there, we should be going for the issues verses all the other stuff undercover. If they really want to know what’s happening then they should tell us what their platform is verses the other stuff,” Knox said.
“It’s really going to be close but overall it’s important to know what their trying to do for our country and our nation,” Williams said.
When heading to the polls, one voter said there one thing to keep in mind.
“You’ll probably have some long lines but be very patient there because your vote is very very important,” Reaves said.
