Lions steal a win and team of the week honors
REAGAN, Tenn –The Scotts Hill Lions pulled off a win against the number one ranked Adamsville Cardinals in the first round of the playoffs and it was a win no one saw coming, but the Lions and their fans. The team knew they could win the game, but even after the win, it was still shocking to some like middle linebacker Drake Thompson.
“I didn’t know what to do when it happened because I knew we could do it, but when it actually happened it was kind of like, did it actually happen,” Thompson said.
But with the win, comes a rematch with a tough Lewis County team and coach Michael Stroup is ready to move forward.
“I tell the kids all the time, you don’t look back on your failures or your successes you know,” Stroup said. “We just go to the next game and right now we’re just going to focus on the next game and hopefully you know pull out a win against Lewis County next Friday.”
The Lions defeated Lewis County 21-12 earlier in the season and will look to do so again this Friday.
