University School of Jackson holds Veterans Day program
JACKSON, Tenn. — The University School of Jackson is celebrating Veterans Day a little early.
The school held a program Wednesday for its middle and high school students to honor local veterans.
It featured performances by the school’s choir and a speech from U.S. Navy Lt. Commander Rob Ragon, an alumnus of the school.
Veterans and their families were in the audience as students learned the importance of Veterans Day.
“The importance of honoring veterans, the importance of public service — we want to today to remember the sacrifices that our soldiers make so that we can be free,” said Don Roe, chairman of USJ’s history department.
The program was held in honor of Veterans Day, which is Friday.
