New Red Cross mobile app helps members of military, local veterans
JACKSON, Tenn. — A new mobile app created by the American Red Cross is available to assist members of the military, veterans and their families.
With the “Hero Care” app, users can access emergency and non-emergency services from anywhere in the world.
The Red Cross said the app came about because 80 percent of service members now are millennials, and they wanted to create something to benefit them.
“If there is an emergency communications message that the service member needs to get to a family or a family needs to get to the command, it can be initiated through this app,” Red Cross volunteer David Brumley said.
The content in the app is also available in Spanish.
You can find more information including links to download the app on the Red Cross mobile apps page.
