RAW VIDEO: Firefighters battle blaze at north Jackson home

NORTH JACKSON — A home appears to be destroyed after firefighters battle a Thursday afternoon blaze in north Jackson.

The home on Wentworth Drive appeared to be fully engulfed as of just after 1:30 p.m. Thursday.

The fire appeared to be under control as of around 2:40 p.m. Fire officials on scene say the home is a total loss.

Jackson police have the street blocked as officials continue to work the scene.

Neighbors say a family of three lives at the home. Fire officials say no one was home at the time of the fire.

Witnesses say they saw flames in the garage.

Most of the roof appears to have been destroyed as well as a car inside the garage.

The home’s windows appear to have been blown out.
