Weather Update: 4:30 PM Saturday

Currently it is a cool but clear afternoon across the area as the sun starts to set with temperatures in the upper 50s. With the sun going down temps will quickly start to fall under calm wind.

We are looking at a frigid night as overnight lows bottom out at or below 32 degrees, freezing. It’s likely that frost will be across the grass when we wake up. If you have potted plant, you might want to cover them or bring them inside for the night. Tomorrow morning will be a cold start to Sunday. I suggest some gloves as you drive into church — the steering wheel could be cold to touch first thing in the morning.

The afternoon though, looks wonderful. Afternoon high temps reach back into the low 60s. It’ll be very similar to Saturday. You could be comfortable in a long sleeve shirt or a light jacket. Lots of sunshine sticks around to end the weekend.

By the time we get into Monday, there is a small chance for some overnight light rain showers but the chance is minimal and not everyone will see rain. There is a warming trend in the forecast this week, that looks to take our afternoon temperatures back toward the low 70s by mid week.

That won’t last long as a cold front reaches West Tennessee by Friday will bring the prospect for scattered shower and a drop in our temperatures going into next weekend.
