West Carroll Special School District votes to hire new director of schools

The West Carroll Special School District has voted for a new director of schools, again.

Dexter Williams was unanimously chosen as the new director, at Thursday night’s school board meeting. The school board is looking to have his contract drawn up by the December board meeting.

Jim Hughes, who was voted on November 3, decided to not take the job.
Williams was one of the top three candidates during that selection process.

“He’s a hard working guy, he’s from here, I think he cares, I think he cares about our kids, cares about our community, I believe he cares about our school system and he’s going to bring a work ethic that’s second to none here,” said William Robinson, a school board member
for West Carroll Special School District.

The plan is for Williams to take over as director of schools next spring.
