“Putting on the Gospel” comes to Hub City with festival of praise

JACKSON, Tenn.-Hundreds were in downtown Jackson Wednesday night for a festival of praise.

Multi-Grammy award winner Fred Hammond, Hezekiah Walker, Karen Clark Sheard and other artists, performed in front of a huge audience at the Carl Perkins Civic Center.

Local pastors said this is a perfect show before the holiday season.

“We can go home with a sense of all of us coming together and serving God, and just forgetting about the cares of the day and forgetting about what’s going on, just for a moment. And all of us coming together at one time,” said Rhonda Pettigrew, host of the event.

The tour heads to Southaven, Mississippi next before heading to Florida and Georgia.
