Police respond to shooting at Jackson gas station; no injuries reported
JACKSON, Tenn. — Police responded Wednesday afternoon to a shooting at a convenience store near downtown.
Police Chief Julian Wiser said an altercation that began inside the Shell station in the 300 block of South Highland Avenue ended with gunshots fired outside the store. He said no one was hit.
Officers have two people detained as they investigate. They said in a written statement that they are not seeking any other suspects.
Several patrol cars are at the store, which is near the civic center, and police are urging drivers to use caution due to slow-moving traffic.
