Crockett Co. deputy to be arraigned in federal court, sheriff says
CROCKETT COUNTY, Tenn. — A deputy is set to be arraigned Tuesday in federal court on various charges, according to a Facebook post from the sheriff’s office.
Deputy Calvin Fields was arrested after an investigation involving multiple agencies, according to Sheriff Troy Klyce.
Fields is set to be arraigned Tuesday in federal court in Jackson, according to the sheriff.
The sheriff announced the charges Monday in a Facebook post. He did not say what kind of charges the deputy is facing.
The sheriff’s department began investigating the incident Jan. 19 and requested the assistance of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the 28th District Violent Crime and Drug Task Force and the 28th District Attorney General, according to the post.
“The men and women of the Crockett County Sheriff’s Office are highly disappointed and could use your prayers at this time,” Sheriff Klyce said in the post. “While being disappointed, at the same time I’m very proud of CCSD investigators and staff for holding themselves together while seeking the truth under such great duress.”
