Hundreds turn out for TDOT open job interview

JACKSON, Tenn. — Hundreds of people searching for a job made their way to the Tennessee Department of Transportation on Wednesday for an open interview.

Officials say more than 500 people made their way to the hiring event. TDOT is looking to fill more than 30 operation technician positions available in West Tennessee, which includes maintenance, construction and pothole patching.

“We have 34 job openings that consist of in Hardeman County, Haywood County, Henderson County, McNairy County and Madison County, and it’s an entry-level position,” TDOT spokesperson Nichole Lawrence said.

Lawrence says applicants should hear back about the job within the next few days.
