Local church holds midday Holy Week service

JACKSON, Tenn. — As West Tennesseans prepare for Easter Sunday, congregants at a local church held an event Wednesday in celebration of Holy Week.

Throughout the week, various churches across the area are hosting midday services open to anyone.

Worshipers gathered Wednesday at First Presbyterian Church on North Highland Avenue to listen to a speaker, worship, have fellowship and pray.

“Christ calling people together from different backgrounds, from different churches, different worshiping communities to focus on what’s truly important, especially during this Holy Week,” Pastor John White said.

The next Holy Week service is at noon Thursday at Englewood Baptist Church on North Highland Avenue. The public is invited to take part.
